Sarasota County STEM Science Fair

Ms. Rasbury, who teaches 7th/8th Grade Gifted Science at LNS, would like to congratulate the students who participated in Sarasota County STEM Fair, which was held January 28 – February 4, 2022.

Fifteen Laurel Nokomis Students Middle School Science students participated in the county wide fair: Natalie White, Owen Alford, Daxton McKinney, William Crouch, Jake Hartter, Landen Young, Luciana Depersia, Jack Holdrich, Gavin Enghauser,  Megan Cho-Wade, Koreena Hickey, Gabriella Pina, Anisa Snow, McKenzie Shockey and Courtney Blanton.

This year the judging was based on a virtual platform in which the students developed an experiment and performed it, created a
PowerPoint, and created a video presentation. Our students represented Laurel Nokomis well. The following students
placed in their categories:

Owen Alford received 1st place in Physics and Astronomy.
William Crouch and Jack Holdrich placed 2nd in Physics and Astronomy.
Gabriella Pina received 1st place in Plant Sciences.
Natalie White placed 2nd in chemistry.
Gavin Enghauser placed 1st in chemistry. Gavin also received a nomination for the Broadcom Master Competition.
